Elon Musk requires ‘FSD' demo for every prospective Tesla buyer in North America

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has instructed employees in North America to install and demonstrate the latest version of the company’s premium driver assistance system, known as ‘FSD’, before delivering vehicles. Musk stated in an email to staff that it is now mandatory to activate FSD V12.3.1 and give customers a brief test ride. The FSD option costs $199 per month and does not turn vehicles into autonomous cars. Despite potential delays, Musk believes that few people are aware of the true capabilities of FSD when closely supervised. Tesla is also requesting staff to sign up for additional shifts to ensure swift vehicle deliveries in the final days of the first quarter. The company is facing pressure to avoid a year-over-year decline in deliveries for Q1.
